WestJet is showing flights from Halifax to Oranjestad, Aruba for $446 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights have 1 stop each way in Toronto.
There are a few reasons I like this deal, beyond the fact that it's around half of the typical best price for a flight from Halifax to Aruba.
- The flights are as fast as Halifax - Aruba can be done, with ideal layover times.
- Aruba is far south in the Caribbean, on the very fringes of the hurricane belt. Only six hurricanes have passed within 100km miles of Aruba over the past 140 years. Statistically speaking *most* places in the Caribbean are safe from hurricanes by mid to late November. Aruba even more so.
- Unlike most places in the Caribbean which can have very expensive accommodations you can actually find well reviewed places to stay in Aruba for $100-$150 CAD / night (sort by price).
- This is the first time there's been a great deal from Halifax to Aruba.
